Popwork Surveys: ask your whole company questions, anonymously or not

Check-ins keep the pulse of every team, but sometimes you need to ask everyone one specific question: how was the reorg announcement, what do people think of the new office days, how ready are teams for the end-of-year period?

Surveys are short one-off questionnaires you send to the people you choose, open between two dates.

  • Built in minutes: up to 5 questions (1–5 scale, single choice or free text)
  • Anonymous or named: you pick, and everyone sees exactly how their answer will be used before they reply
  • Targeted audiences: the whole company, specific teams, or HR criteria (department, division, job title, tenure…)
  • Automatic reminders on email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and in-app notifications
  • Results by group, with built-in protection for anonymity

Create and send a survey 📝

Go to Company > Surveys and click Create. Write your questions, choose who is asked, set the opening, closing and reminder dates, and see a live preview of the audience (including invited people who haven't joined Popwork yet). A "who sees what" panel shows the exact privacy notice each person will read before answering.

Managers can send surveys to their own teams too once an admin allows it (see Roles & permissions below). A manager's survey is always named, never anonymous.

Answering takes a minute ⏱️

Each recipient sees the survey at the top of their timeline, visible only to them. It opens full screen like a check-in, one question per screen. Answers are sent all at once and can't be edited afterwards. Written answers use the same editor as check-ins.

Results, by group 📊

Open a survey's results to see participation, the distribution and average of each scale question, choice counts and written answers. Break results down by team, department, division, job title or tenure, using the same dimensions as People Insights.

For anonymous surveys, groups with too few respondents are hidden (and a second group may be hidden too, so a hidden one can't be deduced). Written answers are shuffled and never split by group.

When a survey is named and read by managers, answers also appear in the shared space between the employee and their manager, among past check-ins.
